UGuide is for helping people use facilities safely and easily. This policy sets out what you can't put in UGuide or do with it, so guides stay useful and trustworthy for everyone who scans them.
1. What this covers
This policy applies to everyone who uses UGuide and to everything added to it: guides, sections, photos, videos, documents, video links, and the names of entities and facilities. It's part of our terms of service.
2. Content that isn't allowed
Don't add content that:
- is unlawful, or encourages or helps someone break the law;
- you don't have the right to share, such as someone else's photos or documents used without permission;
- includes other people's personal information (like a private phone number or home address) without their agreement;
- is defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful or discriminatory;
- is sexually explicit, or shows graphic violence;
- could put people in danger, such as instructions for bypassing safety devices, fire systems or electrical isolation;
- is misleading about who runs a facility, or impersonates another organisation; or
- contains malware, phishing, or links meant to trick people.
3. Things you mustn't do
- Put UGuide QR codes on a building or equipment you aren't authorised to represent.
- Try to get around the facility PIN, licence limits or any other security or access control.
- Access accounts, entities or data that aren't yours, or probe, scan or test UGuide's security without our written permission.
- Overload UGuide, or scrape or copy it in bulk with automated tools.
- Use UGuide AI for anything other than writing your guides, or try to get around its instructions or limits.
- Use UGuide to send spam, or to collect information about visitors.
- Resell or rent out access to UGuide without an agreement with us.
4. Sensitive information
Hirers often need things like alarm and lockbox steps. Put those in sections marked "Needs PIN", and only give the facility PIN to people who need it. Change the PIN when people move on.
Even then, think about whether something belongs in UGuide at all. Keep information whose disclosure could put people or property at serious risk, such as master codes or safe combinations, out of guides altogether.
5. Safety information
If a guide covers emergencies, evacuation, first aid or hazardous equipment, keep it accurate and up to date, follow the manufacturer's instructions and any council or legal requirements, and make it clear that people should call the local emergency number (000 in Australia) in an emergency. UGuide guides support on-site signage and inductions; they don't replace them.
6. Reporting a problem
If you see a guide that breaks this policy, or a QR code that seems to be in the wrong place, please tell us through our contact form, with the code or link if you have it. For problems with the building itself, contact the facility's manager.
7. What we do about breaches
We may remove or hide content, suspend a guide, facility or account, or close an account, depending on how serious the breach is. Where it's reasonable, we'll contact the entity's owners first and give them a chance to fix it. We'll report illegal content or activity to the authorities when we need to.
