Delete your account

You can delete your UGuide account yourself, at any time. It can't be undone.

Delete your account

  1. Choose Account at the top of any page to open My account.
  2. Under Delete account, choose Delete my account.
  3. Check what will happen to each entity you belong to, and choose what happens to any you own (see below).
  4. Read the list of everything that will be deleted.
  5. Type your email address to confirm, then choose Delete my account.

You're logged out straight away, and we email you to say your account has been deleted.

What happens to your entities

  • You're a member: you're taken off the entity and its facilities. Everything else stays, including guides you wrote.
  • You're its owner, and other people belong to it: choose one of them to take it over. They become the owner, and we email to let them know. Or choose to delete the entity.
  • You're its owner, and nobody else belongs to it: the entity is deleted.

Deleting an entity deletes all its facilities, guides, sections, photos, videos and documents, and everyone's access to them. Its printed QR codes stop working. Before you confirm, UGuide lists everything that will be deleted.

Want someone who isn't in the entity yet to take over? Invite them, and once they've joined, hand the entity over to them, or choose them when you delete your account. See Hand over when your committee changes.

Subscriptions

  • An entity you hand over keeps its licences and subscription. The new owner looks after billing from then on, and Stripe sends the invoices to them. They can check the card and billing details on the entity's Billing tab.
  • An entity on a free trial can be deleted: its trial just ends.
  • An entity can't be deleted while its subscription will renew. Cancel it on the entity's Billing tab first, or hand the entity over. Once it's cancelled, you can delete your account straight away. The rest of the period you've paid for isn't refunded. See Update your card, download tax invoices or cancel.

What we keep

  • Billing records and tax invoices, for five years, because Australian tax law requires it.
  • Messages you've sent to UGuide support. Ask us if you'd like them deleted too.
  • Copies in our backups, until the backups expire.

See Your data and privacy and our privacy policy.
